June McGuriman Knapp

June McGuriman Knapp went to her heavenly home on July 25, 2015. She was born in Bacon’s Castle on Dec. 14, 1936 to the late William E. and Donnie Ellis McGuriman.
June graduated from Surry High School and retired as a research librarian from the city of Newport News Public Library System, a job that she loved. She was a Christian and had attended both Bacon’s Castle and Mill Swamp Baptist churches. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting.
In addition to her parents, June is also predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Knapp Sr. and a sister, Rose McGuriman Wyatt.
She is survived by her sons, Edward F. Knapp Jr. of Norfolk, John I Knapp (Lauretta) of Smithfield, her daughters, Donna R. Knapp of League City, Texas and Barbara A Knapp of Newport News, her sister, Dianna McGuriman Keen (“Junior”), two grandsons, Johnnie Knapp and Connor Knapp Carr, and her granddaughter, Jennie Knapp, as well as her feline fur-baby, BJ.
June’s family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Wednesday, July 29, f4-7 pm at the home of Dianna and Junior Keen, 120 Commodore Lane in Smithfield.
