THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
SPECIAL YARD EXCEPTION
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, Smithfield, Virginia, in meeting room A, on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the application of Janet Buppert, owner, for a special yard exception under the provisions of Article 12, Section D of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve an existing residential structure with a front yard setback 34 feet. The applicant proposes to construct a room addition to the rear of the dwelling house which will meet the current ordinance requirements. The Special Yard Exception will cure the violation. The property is located at 1202 Wilson Road. The minimum front yard setback is 35 feet, as provided by the Zoning Ordinance. The subject property is zoned N-R Neighborhood Residential District.
Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special yard exception are available for inspection in the office of the Department of Planning, Engineering, & Public Works, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended that the Planning Commission of the Town of Windsor will hold public hearings on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chamber on the matters described as follows:
LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE- Proposed draft of a new Land Development Ordinance that among other changes renames several districts, creates a new Planned Unit Development District, creates a new site-plan review process for certain types of activities and redefines, clarifies and amends numerous text items from the previous Land Development Ordinance. The proposed Ordinance deals with all aspects of land development within the Town of Windsor including all types of Zoning and Subdivision matters.
The Land Development Ordinance is available for public scrutiny in the Town of Windsor Town Hall, Monday through Friday, or by contacting Mr. Dennis Carney, Planning and Zoning Administrator at (757)242-4288 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE ZONING MAP CORRESPONDING TO THE AFOREMENTIONED TOWN OF WINDSOR LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE- The proposed Land Development Ordinance Zoning Map which indicates the location and configuration of the various zoning districts with their new names to correspond to the proposed Land Development Ordinance where applicable is proposed for public review.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 to consider for recommendation to the Board of Supervisors the following applications:
The application of the Monteiro Enterprises LLC and Robert Pfeifer & Louis Monteiro Trustees for a change in zoning classification from General Commercial (GC) to Rural Agricultural Conservation (RAC) of approximately 3.5 acres of land located on the west side of Whispering Pines Trail (Rt. 650), Windsor, in the Carrsville Election District. The purpose of the application is to continue the present use of the campground and campground store.
The application of Woodland Solar Center, LLC, applicant, and Jesse and James Oliver, owners, for a Conditional Use Permit on 200.00 acres of a total 213.15 acres, composed of five parcels of land, located at 18222 Longview Drive in the Windsor Election District. The application also includes a request to withdraw the properties in question from the Longview Agricultural/Forestal District. The purpose of the application is to allow for a Utility Service, major (Solar Farm) to be operated on the site.
The application of Brewer’s, LLC, applicant and owner, for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment on 111.442 composed of two parcels of land (parcel 33-01-013A consisting of 6.442 acres and parcel 33-01-014 consisting 105 acres) located east of Route 10/32 and south of Route 32/258 in the Windsor Election District. The purpose of the application is to amend the land use designation from Business & Employment and Suburban Estate to Resource Conservation for the establishment of a conservation easement.
