What’s in a name?

Opening the paper the other week to the editorial section, a word in the Rows title caught my eye. Pravda!
There is discussion today about the Confederacy and what its symbols mean to different people. It is the same with the word Pravda. To some it means nothing, a term from a bygone day but to me it brings back the Soviet horrors. The propaganda of this paper informed the people of Russia how fortunate they were and how decrepit the West was. While this paper was the mouthpiece of the Soviet Union, millions of people were being murdered by the party.
It seems unfair and out of context to equate the Voices from the Isle with the Soviet Communist.
We may not all agree with the state of the County but our disagreements must be kept civil. I am sure the editor of the paper used Pravda to get our attention. It worked, but words have meanings.
