Judith “Judy” Fern Nee Humphries

SUFFOLK — Judith “Judy” Fern Nee Humphries, 69, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at Sentara Obici Hospital.  Born in Bremerton, Wash., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Fern C. Nee.  She lived in Minnesota before moving to Suffolk more than 31 years ago.

In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Jefferson Humphries (d.2008).  She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Patrick A. Humphries, and two grandsons, Taylor Humphries and Logan Humphries; daughter-in-law, Amy Humphries; sister, Patricia Soholt; niece, Laura Clark; brother–in-law, Walter Humphries and nieces, Beth and Sharon; and a host of extended family and friends.

Judy will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, sister and a passionate cook. She was actively involved and had made good friends with the residents at the Commons at Centerbrook, Suffolk.  She had become a caregiver and had shared her cooking talents with the friends and residents there.

Family and friends will gather 1:00pm, Saturday, Oct. 17, 1 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Judy’s life at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.
