Leadership is not about having a title; it’s about taking action and inspiring others to join you in those actions. Mark Marshall has proven himself a solid and trustworthy leader in Isle of Wight County for over 20 years, the last four as sheriff. He has taken action to transform the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office into a professional agency in which our county can take great pride. 

I worked for Sheriff Marshall for almost three years, and in that time I watched him lead by action. The accomplishments of the office include national accreditation, deputies with superior training and safer equipment, and relationships fostered with other law enforcement agencies to maximize the safety and security of our citizens. None of this happened by chance; it came about because Sheriff Marshall consistently has taken purposeful action, motivating staff to follow his lead.

We citizens were promised a sheriff’s office built upon “professionalism, partnerships and integrity,” and Mark Marshall has kept that promise. Let’s continue the legacy of excellence at Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office by re-electing him on Nov. 3.
