The object of this suit is to obtain a step-parent adoption of the above referenced child. It appearing by affidavit having been made and duly filed showing that the birth father in the above-entitled cause is a non-resident individual, other than a non-resident individual who has appointed a statutory agent. It is therefore ORDERED that John Louis Cionek appear on or before November 10, 2016, in the Clerk’s Office of this Court and do what is necessary to protect his interests.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on October 20, 2016 to consider the adoption of an ordinance to increase the machinery and tools tax rate from $0.70 to $1.75. The purpose of this ordinance is equalize the tax rate as a result of a change in assessment methodology initiated by the Commissioner of the Revenue. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Attorney and the Office of the County Administrator, Isle of Wight Courthouse, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and is available for public inspection. Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his views with respect to, the proposed ordinance may appear before, and be heard by, the Board during the Public Hearing section of the meeting in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia. The public meeting shall begin at 6:00 p.m. The County of Isle of Wight is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 to consider for recommendation to the Board of Supervisors the following application:
The application of William Riddick, applicant, on behalf of ROSF, LLC, owners, for a Special Use Permit on 19.36 acres of land on two parcels located at 19259 and 19327 Farm Road in the Hardy Election District. The purpose of the application is to allow for an Event Center on the parcels which are zoned Rural Agricultural Conservation.
Copies of said applications are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and are available for public examination.

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Town Council in the council chambers in the Town Hall, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the adoption of the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE TO EXECUTE A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH SMITHFIELD RECREATION ASSOCIATION INC. GRANTING THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO LEASE CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTION PERTAINING TO SUCH GRANT.
The public is hereby invited to submit bids in writing for the franchise, right, privilege and lease proposed to be granted by this ordinance. The proposed term shall be a grant of 20 years. All bids must be in writing and must be submitted not later than 12:00 noon on October 28, 2016 to the Town Manager at his offices located at 911 S. Church Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.
Any person desiring to be heard in favor of or in opposition to or to express his or her views with respect to the aforesaid Ordinance may appear at the hearing and be heard.
