Notice of Public Hearing

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, the Town Council of the Town of Claremont, Virginia will conduct a Public Hearing on water and sewer rate changes and the FY 2017-2018 Claremont Town budget of $60,607.00, Claremont Water System budget of $95,861.40, and Claremont Sewer System budget of $27,934.80 to include assumed water rate changes. The Public Hearing will be conducted at 6:30 pm at Claremont Town Hall, 4115 Spring Grove Avenue, Claremont, Virginia.

All interested persons may appear at such time and place and present their views. The Town Council Meeting will be at 7:00 pm following the Public Hearing.

TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD SPECIAL USE PERMIT

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Town Council in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the application of Kathleen Swedish, owner and Pamona Kelli Pollard, applicant, for a special use permit under the provisions of Article 3.G., Section C, and Article 6 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve the use of the premises for a private school/service establishment and in particular for a cosmetology school.. The property which is the subject of this special use permit is located at 704C S. Church Street. The property in question is zoned R-O, Residential Office District.

Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. Chaki, Trustee by substitute service upon the Secretary of the commonwealth at her last known post office address of 16821 Rudence Court #145, Charlotte, NC 28278 and has used due diligence to ascertain any other location for her, but without effect;

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 15, 2017 to consider the following:

An Ordinance to Amend and Reenact the Isle of Wight County Code by Amending and Reenacting the Following Articles of Appendix B-1, Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area Ordinance: Article IV, Performance Standards and Development Criteria; Section 4002, Performance Standards in Resource Protection Areas, and Section 4003, Water Quality Impact Assessment; in order to provide for an administrative review process for principal structures and necessary utilities on lots created before October 1, 1989 as well as for lots recorded between October 1, 1989, and March 1, 2002, as permitted by state regulations.

Copies of said ordinance amendment are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and is available for public examination.

Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said ordinance amendment may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board of Supervisors’ Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex on Thursday, June 15, 2017. The public meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL SIGN EXCEPTION

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of Cypress Investment Holdings LLC, owner/applicant, for a special sign exception under the provisions of Article 10, Section L. of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve a special sign exception to allow for a residential subdivision detached sign having area that exceeds eighteen (18) sq. ft. and an associated sign base that exceeds twenty-four (24) sq. ft. The proposed sign area is sixty-eight (68) sq. ft. and the proposed base is thirty-six (36) sq. which exceed the limits imposed by the provisions of the zoning ordinance. The property upon which the sign is to be located is at the Intersection of Fairway Drive and Cypress Creek Parkway (Tax Map # 21-01-086A & 21-01-089). The property in question is zoned S-R, Suburban Residential District. Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard.
