NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD SPECIAL USE PERMIT

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of Takeya Chapman, applicant, for a special use permit under the provisions of Article 3.F., and Article 6 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve the use of the premises for a home occupation and in particular for a photography business. The property which is the subject of this special use permit is located at 958 John Rolfe Drive, Apartment D. The property in question is zoned MF-R, Multi-family Residential District.
Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special use permit are available for inspection in the offices of the Department of Planning, Engineering, & Public Works, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1403 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, and the Coastal Primary Sand Dune Zoning Ordinance of Isle of Wight County, that the Isle of Wight County Wetlands Board will hold a meeting on Monday, May 21, 2018. A public hearing on the following application is scheduled to be considered:

The application of R. Ben Ellis for installation of a timber groin extending 36 feet channelward of an existing bulkhead with a 10-foot spur along the mean low water mark, the placement of 15-20 cubic yards of sand fill landward of the mean low water mark and the planting of wetlands grasses on the down drift side of the groin, along the James River at 3141 South Shore Drive, Smithfield, in the Hardy Election District.

A copy of said application and Coastal Primary Sand Dune Zoning Ordinance are on file in the Department of Planning and Zoning, Isle of Wight Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia and are available for public examination.

The application of CKG Enterprises, LLC, owner, for an amendment to the Conditional Limited Industrial zoning of a parcel with approximately 2.72 acres with tax parcel identification number 34-01-104A located at 15221 and 15225 Carrollton Boulevard (Rte. 17).
