Howard Pernell Kea

WINDSOR — Howard Pernell Kea (Junnie) entered into eternal rest on Oct. 27, 2019 at Norfolk Sentara Heart Hospital. He was born on Jan. 22, 1946 to the late Joseph Kea and Bernice Tynes Kea. He was preceded by his late wife, Roberta Brown Kea.
Howard worked/owned Gulf Service Station, was a mechanic at Norfolk Naval Base, driver of chartered and school buses and a custodian. He served three years in the United States Army. Howard enlisted during the Vietnam War.
On Sept. 26, 1992 he married Lola Manley Kea. To that union three children were born. He was dedicated to his family and friends. He was never a stranger to anyone. He is survived by his wife, Lola M. Kea, four daughters, Valeria Kea-Edwards (Brian), LaVetia Kea-Hartsfield (Patrick), LaTisha Kea-Towns and LaPernee Kea; one brother, Morris Kea; goddaughters, Charmaine Kea-Bailey and Chiquita Kea Diggs; a godson, Maurice Kea; a special sister, Effie Kea Conley; a special brother, James Kea; 10 grandchildren, Amber, Jai, KeShaun, KeaYania, Keaera, Christina, Christopher, Ja’Siah, Isaiah and Amiyah; uncles, four aunts, eight sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; a special friend, Elmer Godwin; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Nov.2, at Emmanuel Baptist Church Smithfield. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
