Richard Lessard, 57, of Smithfield, reunited with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2020.

Richard was born in Franklin, N.H. to Robert Lessard and Theresa Lessard Lefebvre on April 6, 1962. He served and retired from the United States Army and had recently retired from the Department of Defense. He loved his wife, family and friends very much. His laugh, love for gardening, sense of humor and love for music was extremely contagious.

 Richard is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lessard, and his grandparents Blanche Vallee Morin, Joseph Vallee, Peter Lessard and Aldora Lessard. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy Lessard; children Alyne Lessard-Freeman (Elizare), Matthew Lessard, and Laureen Banasiak (Ben); brothers, Ron Lessard (Sophia), Marc Lessard; mother, Theresa Lessard Lefebvre; and grandchildren Johanna and Eliza Freeman.

 Funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Parish in Smithfield on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. Viewing is Friday Jan. 10, 4-7 p.m. at Shivers Funeral Chapel
