School breakfast/lunch

In response to Gov. Ralph Northam’s order to close schools, Isle of Wight County schools will begin offering drive-by pick-up meals beginning today, March 16 through Friday, March 27. The bagged breakfast and lunch meals are offered to all students without charge from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at Smithfield High School, Georgie Tyler Middle School and Carrsville Elementary School.

School buses will deliver meals to the following areas daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

•Smithfield Apartments

•Church Manor Apartments

•Cedar Street Apartments

•Rushmere Fire Department

•Eagle Harbor Apartments

Southern Isle of Wight

•Twin Ponds Mobile Community

•Clydes Dale Mobile Community

•Georgie Tyler Apartments

•Zuni Citgo

•Windsor Community Center

Picking up student materials from school

Parents and guardians can pick up a student’s personal items and medications today, March 16. The school buildings will be closed to students and families beginning Tuesday, March 17 through March 17. Those who need to pick up items after today, March 16, can email the school principal to arrange for a pick-up time. 

School calendar/spring break

At this time, no decisions have been made about the nine weeks marking period or SOL testing. Information will be communicated as it becomes available. No decision has been made to change spring break at this time.
