A report of the accounts of Stephen Todd Sower and Clinton Scott Sower, Co-Administrators of the Estate of Stephen M. Sower, deceased (the “Administrators”), of the debts and demands against Stephen M. Sower and the Estate of Stephen M. Sower (the “Estate”) has been filed in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County of Isle of Wight, and at least six (6) months have elapsed since the qualification of the Administrators. On the motion of the Administrators, it is hereby ORDERED that the creditors of Stephen M. Sower, deceased, and the Estate and all others interested in the Estate do show cause, if they can, on the 31st day of July, 2020, at 9:15 a.m. before this Court at its Courthouse in the County of Isle of Wight, Virginia, against the payment and delivery of the Estate to the legatees without requiring refunding bonds.

Notice is hereby given that Hayes Transportation Services LLC, 15171 Ashby Way West, Carrollton, VA 23314, has filed an application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity that would authorize: 1. Passenger transportation as a Common Carrier over Irregular Routes, providing service throughout the cities of Chesapeake, Colonial Heights, Emporia, Franklin, Hampton, Hopewell, Newport News, Norfolk, Petersburg, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Richmond, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, and the counties of Caroline, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Essex, Gloucester, Greensville, Hanover, Henrico, Isle of Wright, James City, King and Queen, King George, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Prince George, Richmond, Southampton, Surry, Sussex, Westmoreland and York, Virginia, and; 2. Any person who desires to protest the application and be a party to the matter must submit a signed and dated written request setting forth (1) a precise statement of the party’s interest and how the party could be aggrieved if the application was granted; (2) a full and clear statement of the facts that the person is prepared to provide by competent evidence; (3) a statement of the specific relief sought; (4) the name of the applicant and case number assigned to the application; and (5) a certification that a copy of the protest was sent to the applicant. Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-1427 of the Code of Virginia 1950, as amended that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, July 16, 2020 to consider the following:
An ordinance to amend and reenact the Isle of Wight County Code by amending and reenacting Chapter 1-General Provisions, Sec. 1-7.1 – Court Cost. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to increase the current assessment for courthouse security to $20.00 as provided by recent revisions to state law.
A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the County Administrator’s Office at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex, Isle of Wight, Virginia, and is available for public examination.
Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his or her views with respect to said ordinance amendment may appear before and be heard by said Board of Supervisors during the Public Hearing to be held in the Robert C. HEARING REGARDING THE REMOVAL, RELOCATION, CONTEXTUALIZATION OR COVERING OF THE MEMORIAL TO CONFEDERATE VETERANS AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE SURRY COUNTY COURTHOUSE

NOTICE is hereby given that the Surry County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, August , 13, 2020, at 7:00 pm., or shortly thereafter, to hear public comments regarding the removal, relocation, contextualization, or covering of the memorial to Confederate veterans at the entrance to the Surry County Courthouse. The hearing will be conducted by electronic means according to measures adopted by the County of Surry Ordinance Number 2020-02. The call-in number to participate is 1-877-568-4106 access code: 447-043-91 and information can be found on the County of Surry’s website, https://www.surrycountyva.gov/ describing additional ways the public may participate in or otherwise offer comment before or during the meeting.

PUBLIC NOTICE

On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 6:30pm, the Town Council of the Town of Claremont, Virginia will conduct a Public Hearing on 2020/2021 Budget for The Town of Claremont, Claremont Water System, and Claremont Sewer System, at the Town Hall, 4115 Spring Grove Avenue, Claremont, Virginia.

The Claremont Town Council will conduct its regular July meeting at 7:00pm following the Public Hearing and vote to enact the 2020/2021 budget.
The proposed budgets will be available to view at the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall during business hours at the Town Hall, 4115 Spring Grove Avenue, Claremont Virginia.
All interested persons may appear at such time and place and present their views.
Social distancing restrictions will be enforced.
