Several high-water hazards have been reported throughout Surry County, Ray Phelps, the county’s chief of emergency management, said in an announcement. Areas of concern as of Friday morning were the Hollybush/Gilpark Road area, Route 10 at VDOT, Rocky Bottom at the swamp, Carsley at Route 31 and Rolfe Highway at Smiths Fort.

Surry is also under a coastal flood watch through Monday. “Travel with caution and when you see high water turn around, don’t drown,” Phelps said.
