Elizabeth Scott-Francis, daughter of Luann West Scott and the late Everette M. Scott Jr., of Windsor, graduated in May with a doctorate degree in education from Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Scott-Francis is the granddaughter of Helen Barrett and the late Capt. F.M. Barrett III, of Smithfield, and Anna Scott and the late E. Mabry Scott Sr., of Windsor.

Dr. Scott-Francis, a summa cum laude graduate of The College of William & Mary (Bachelor of Arts) and The University of Virginia (Master of Education), is a university administrator working at The Juilliard School in New York City. Her dissertation research focused on the social, academic and environmental factors influencing college student persistence and graduation.

Dr. Scott-Francis currently resides in Manhattan with her husband, Adam.
