Susan Darlene Whitcher, 62, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Abrham Frederick Austin and Barbara Pearl Cornelius Austin. She is survived by her husband, Todd Whitcher; daughter, Stephanie Connelly; son, Joseph Connelly; grandchildren, Anthony (Kayla), Alison, Chase, Foster (Margaret); niece, Nicki Johnson (Donald Jr.) and their children, Taylor, Jordan, Gracie and Trey; nephew, Stephen Austin (Patricia) and their children, Bridget, Bentley and Bianca; sister-in-law, Linda Austin and Nancy Wheatherly (Loren); brothers-in-law, Ted Whitcher (Cindy) and Tim Whitcher (Janice); and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Austin. Susan was the owner Sparkle & Shine Housekeeping. She loved animals and was a very caring person who would do anything for anyone. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she loved hosting her family and celebrating together at her home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.
