A Surry County woman died in a crash near her home on Sunday.

The Virginia State Police were called to investigate the two-vehicle crash, which happened about 4:16 p.m. on Route 634 (Alliance Road) west of Route 636 (Cobham Wharf Road), according to a press release from Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Preliminary investigation found the driver of a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Route 63 and drove into the rear of a 1978 Ford F900, a farm-use vehicle hauling soybeans.

The driver of the Honda, Skye Ashle Holloway-Nottingham, 33, of the 1700 block of Cobham Wharf Road, died on impact, the press release stated.

A 12-year-old male passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
