Martha Lou Oliver, 83, passed away Jan. 24, 2021. She was born in Suffolk, the daughter of the late Ralph Warren Oliver Sr. and Mary Martha Bowden Oliver. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ralph W. Oliver Jr. and Billie Jean Oliver. Lou Lou was a member of Whitehead’s Grove Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the nursery, taught preschool Sunday school classes, and was a former secretary for Vacation Bible School. She was a part of the Woman’s Missionary Union, and one her last jobs at the church was a security monitor.

Lou Lou is survived by her sisters, Linda O. Whitley (Steve), Judy O. Edwards (Roger); sister-in-law, Marilyn Oliver; nieces and nephews, Kim Johnston (Steve), Michelle Jones (Ronnie), Warren Oliver (Ashley), Jamie Fitchett (Morgan), Edith DaSilva (Adam), Stephanie Corp (Bobby), Nicole Winslow (Jason), Gene Edwards; and 16 great-nieces and -nephews.

A private service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Whitehead’s Grove Baptist Church, where it will be live-streamed on the church’s Facebook page. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation with limited gathering and social distancing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
