James Madison University announces fall 2020 President’s List

James Madison University recently announced that the following students made the President’s List for the fall 2020 semester:

Tyler Aston, of Windsor, who is majoring in integrated science and technology.

Penelope Franklin, of Smithfield, who is majoring in communication sciences and disorders.

James Madison University recently announced that the following students made the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester:

Nicholas Adams, of Carrollton, who is majoring in music.

Logan Baylous, of Smithfield, who is majoring in engineering.

Troy Bracey, of Windsor, who is majoring in sport and recreation management.

MaKayla Burks, of Windsor, who is majoring in nursing.

James Clifford, of Carrollton, who is majoring in biotechnology.

Ricky Goodwyn, of Carrollton, who is majoring in music.

Skyler Gray, of Smithfield, who is majoring in health sciences.

Grace Landen, of Carrollton, who is majoring in nursing.

Kaylin Manner, of Windsor, who is majoring in psychology.

Alexya Massey, of Zuni, who is majoring in nursing.

Deanna Meade, of Smithfield, who is majoring in studio art.

Cameron Pagan, of Zuni, who is majoring in nursing.

Hayley Stallings, of Smithfield, who is majoring in nursing.

Mackenzie Terry, of Ivor, who is majoring in nursing.

Sims receives scholarship

Jordan Sims, of Carrollton, has been accepted into Culver-Stockton College’s incoming class for the fall 2021 semester.

Sims, a senior at Smithfield High School, also was awarded the Hilltop Scholarship, a $10,500 per year scholarship for four years. This scholarship is awarded based upon academic credentials and is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

 

Briggs named to Virginia Tech Dean’s List

Vaughn M. Briggs, a junior majoring in meteorology in the College of Natural Resources and Environment from Smithfield, is among the Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. Briggs is the son of Robb and Lynn Briggs of Smithfield.

 

Skinner named to Dean’s List

Audrey M. Skinner, a sophomore majoring in general engineering in the College of Engineering, from Smithfield, is among the Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

 

Fitchett named to Dean’s List

Taylor W. Fitchett, a freshman majoring in management in the Pamplin College of Business from Smithfield, is among the Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

 

Aidan Watts named to Dean’s List

Aidan Watts, of Suffolk, was named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Wake Forest University. Aidan is a sophomore majoring in political and international studies with minors in history, communications, and global trade and commerce. He is a 2019 graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit average and earn a 3.4 grade point average (out of a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

 

Chloe Watts named to Dean’s List

Chloe Watts, of Suffolk, was named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Virginia Tech. She had a perfect 4.0 for the fall semester. Chloe is a senior majoring in marketing management with minors in international studies and communications. Chloe is a 2017 graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit average and earn a 3.4 grade point average (out of a 4.0 scale) during the semester.
