Severe thunderstorms are expected to affect the area Sunday afternoon and evening.

The storms are expected between 2 and 10 p.m. Sunday. “The main threats will be damaging winds and large hail, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out,” a Facebook post by National Weather Service Wakefield stated. “Please plan now to assure you have multiple ways to receive any issued warnings, and continue to monitor weather.gov/AKQ for the latest information.”

Impacts could include localized downed trees and power lines and isolated structural damage from damaging wind gusts, according to a National Weather Service briefing.

An isolated tornado or two is possible, and hail up to the size of quarters could fall.
