Harry Gene Taliaferro Sr., 76, of Carrollton, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late James and Sarah Taliaferro. Harry retired from Smithfield Packing after 20 years of service.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Seletha Taliaferro Chapman (Chris) and Virginia Annette Simmons; three sons, Harry G. Taliaferro Jr., Brian Lee Taliaferro and Olandus Darnell Taliaferro Sr. (Christine); a special grandson, Joshua Raymond Harvey; three sisters, Linda Taliaferro Vinson (John), Doretha Taliaferro Picott (Larry) and Mary S. Taliaferro; six brothers, James I. Taliaferro (Patricia), Ray Taliaferro (Barbara), Charles Taliaferro (Latisha), Eddie Earl Taliaferro, Rowland Taliaferro (Gail) and Herman Taliaferro; a special friend, Patricia Clark and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Huntington Park, Newport News.
