Units from Smithfield’s and Carrollton’s volunteer fire departments responded to reports of a possible hazardous material incident at the Sentara St. Luke’s medical complex this afternoon.

Firefighters were still on-scene as of 2:45 p.m. The Smithfield Times will report further details as they are learned.
