The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a tornado warning for central Isle of Wight County and the central city of Suffolk until 7:30 p.m.

At 7:06 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Holland moving north at 45 miles per hour. Radar indicated rotation.

The storm will be near King’s Fork around 7:15; Windsor around 7:20; and Isle of Wight around 7:30.

Other nearby locations are also affected.

Take cover now and move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
