Editor, The Smithfield Times:

Well, well, well. It’s a done deal. I cannot thank the Smithfield Town Council enough for their thoughtful consideration of the citizens’ wishes.

So many made it very clear that we did not want this property developed. We gave excellent reasons for it not being built. We do not have the infrastructure in Smithfield for the school system; we do not have the roads to conduct the additional traffic. Nike Park Road, Titus Creek Road, Smiths Neck Road and Reynolds Drive will not be able to handle this.

Plus, nobody wants that beautiful woods and farmland destroyed. But the powers that be do not care what we the people think or want. Just wait until the next election. We will show you what we think of you then.
