The recent well executed paving of Jericho Road is a very welcome development.

One predictable outcome is that it tends to foster speeding, sometimes very egregious speeding on the wide, smooth pavement, where the posted speed limit is 15 mph. Residents of Jericho Estates conferred with the mayor, Carter Williams, about this and suggested that perhaps the town police could place speed monitoring equipment to assess the potential problem, and now there is a traffic volume and speed detection device mounted on the side of the road.
