New turn lanes at the intersection of Brewers Neck and Carrollton boulevards are now open.

Starting Jan. 4, motorists traveling the intersection should anticipate new traffic patterns.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, motorists heading south on Carrollton Boulevard (Route 17), intending to turn right onto Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258) will see new pavement markings and signage directing them to merge with traffic. Those heading north on Carrollton Boulevard, intending to turn left onto Brewers Neck will now see two left-hand turn lanes with pavement markings.

Motorists traveling from Brewers Neck into the northbound lanes of Carrollton Boulevard toward Newport News will also now see two left-hand turn lanes with pavement markings.

The single through-lane from Brewers Neck that will lead into the condominium development known as The Crossings will remain blocked as the developer continues work.
