Fourteen members of The Woman’s Club of Smithfield went back to school on May 6 for an eye-opening visit with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Windsor High School, Windsor Elementary School and Smithfield High School. The education staff and students escorted club members through Building Trades, Cosmetology, Engineering Labs, Early Childhood Education, Agricultural Land Lab, JROTC, Manufacturing Systems, Welding, Certified Nursing and Culinary Arts. “Passion and skill were strongly demonstrated by both teacher and students,” said club member Janice Dolensky. “A delicious gourmet lunch was prepared and served by the Culinary Arts Students at Smithfield High School. A special ‘thank you’ to Dr. Marsha Cale, Principal Laura Sullivan, Principal Bryan Thrift and all the staff and students that made this event a wonderful learning experience.”
