Planning a fun day in Surry County just got easier as the county’s tourism office announced the unveiling of a new widget on its website.

With integrated mobile apps, the tool creates an interactive way for guests to map out a unique trip itinerary for their visit to Surry County, officials said in a news release. Designed the help of Visit Widget, the tool provides a new way to explore what Surry County has to offer, including historical sites, dining opportunities, outdoor activities and shopping. Guests may view it all at once or search by categories like Dine, Stay, Events, and Tours.

“This is such an easy tool to use,” said Pat Bernshausen, Surry County tourism coordinator. “Guests can view an activity, event or restaurant and add it to a personalized plan. Then, they can share that plan with others via social media, email or text message. We’re even hoping that residents will find the app helpful as they plan activities for visiting family and friends.”

“Trip planning has become a more digital experience in 2022,” said Yoti Jabri, Surry County director of economic development. “With this planner, the tourism team can help guests maximize their planning time and map out an exciting adventure in Surry County.”
