A group of three women who’ve made it their mission to host events to benefit the Smithfield community held a block party on Aug. 13 to celebrate brothers Troy and Benzie Seaborne. Troy has been a barber for 42 years. His brother, Benzie, for 24. They are the children of Raymond and Maurice Seaborne, and have worked in their father’s barber shop throughout their careers. Michelle Chapman, Rakia Robertson and Destiny Hill, who have named their unofficial service group “#dearB x The Pour Project,” presented the brothers with flowers and a plaque. Pictured are Troy (left) and Benzie (right) with their mother, Maurice, outside their barber shop on Main Street.
