Both Valerie Butler and Taylor “Carter” Williams are up for reelection in Smithfield’s Town Council election on Nov. 8. I think everyone should remember that they both voted in favor of the Mallory Scott Farm project that is going to bring 800-plus homes to Battery Park Road.

This project was originally granted approval for 275 homes back in 2008 and Mr. Napolitano wanted to almost triple the project. A very large number of Smithfield residents spoke against this being approved but it didn’t matter. I believe it’s time we show Ms. Butler and Mr. Williams that their vote did matter and not reelect them.

Don’t forget how overcrowded our schools already are, and the traffic problems our once small town will encounter especially on Battery Park and Nike Park roads.
