Ray DePlatchett, left, a Realtor with Rose and Womble Realty, presents a $500 donation to Rick Rowlands, executive director of the Isle of Wight Christian Outreach Program. Each year the Rose and Womble Foundation provides funds to each of its offices to award a grant to deserving charities that their Realtors nominate. This year DePlatchett nominated the Smithfield-based COP, which provides food, medical treatment, diapers for children of mothers in need, assistance with utility bills as well as other services to those in need in Isle of Wight County. Realtors from each office vote on which nominated programs receive grant funds. This is the second consecutive year that DePlatchett’s nominated charity has been selected. In addition to the grant funds, COP is being provided with 20 full Thanksgiving meals (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, cooking pan and more) for a family of six through the Rose and Womble Foundation’s annual Turkey Brigade. This is the third consecutive year the foundation has provided Thanksgiving meals to COP to be given to clients in need. The Rose and Womble Foundation provides 3,500 full Thanksgiving meals to in-need families in Hampton Roads. (Submitted photo)
