Museum soliciting entries for ‘ISLE Be Home For Christmas’ book

The Isle of Wight County Museum is looking for current and former county residents to submit Christmas mementos for publication in a book set to debut next year.
The book will be titled “ISLE Be Home for Christmas: Memories of the Holiday Season in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.”
The museum is looking for old photographs, cards, songbooks, ornaments with a backstory, postcards, recipes and more. The book is slated for publication in December 2023.
According to Museum Director Jennifer England, the book was inspired by a number of items on display at the museum, including photographs, advertising and ornaments.
The idea “was born from the thought that showcasing these items is a beautiful way to recognize the holiday season – past and present,” England said. “There is much to love about the holiday season and the memories invoked. Isle of Wight County deserves a publication that serves as a love letter for this time of year.”
