Editor, The Smithfield Times:

I just learned that systemic racism, and oppression in general, have been completely eliminated from Virginia and the entire USA! At least this is the case according to the three middle-aged white males on the Isle of Wight School Board, John Collick, Jason Maresh and Mark Wooster, who voted to approve recent restrictions on what may be taught in our county schools. 

Wow, I guess America really is great again, a place where we strive to “get controversial topics out of our classrooms”! We certainly don’t want to stimulate any actual thinking about complex and sensitive issues in our students here in the good ol’ USA, where we do no wrong. 

I am just glad my four children no longer attend any Isle of Wight school so they are not subject to this delusional, small-minded policy that is being forced on our teachers and students.
