Editor, The Smithfield Times:

I read the letter from the couple from Virginia Beach (“IW must fix its litter problem,” March 29). I don’t mean to be rude, but please don’t come here and complain about litter. I’ve been to Virginia Beach and there is litter there also.

The only way the roadways would be litter-free is for the county to hire someone to work 24 hours a day to pick up litter. The problem could be solved if people would keep trash in their car or truck and throw it away in trash cans.

Please don’t move here and begin to complain about the county, at least until Virginia Beach has cleaned up its litter.
