Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is a great vision for our great country and one that is currently under political attack. As a lifelong Democrat it is clear to me that we support it, however, that is not the case, in my opinion, for the extremists on the other side based on their actions and beliefs.

Let’s consider life. They are focused on protecting unborn life, however, after birth there seems little to no concern for that life having any societal support. Instead, survival of the fittest seems to be the preferred path.

Liberty, well that’s fine as long as you’re not “woke,” which is their recently adopted jargon to discredit anything and everything they don’t believe in and therefore is unacceptable to them and shouldn’t be allowed for anyone.

The pursuit of happiness, of course, was meant to mean many different things for the many different people in our country when it was originally written. Yes, it was recognizing and celebrating the diversity of the citizens in our country. Somehow diversity, which was and is the cornerstone of our country, has been turned into the worst of all possible things to these extremists.

I will be voting for the candidates of the Democratic Party and their belief in and support for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for everyone!
