Smithfield High girls soccer team loses in state semifinals

The Smithfield High girls soccer team’s quest for a state championship came to an end Friday in the Class 4 state semifinals.
The Packer girls lost 2-0 to Tuscarora at the Virginia High School League Spring Jubilee in Spotsylvania County.
SHS made the state tournament for a second straight season, having also lost to Tuscarora in the 2022 semifinals.
Smithfield finished 19-4 this spring.
