With students set to return to classrooms in just under two weeks, Isle of Wight County Schools held its teacher convocation on Aug. 24. The annual event – much like a high school pep rally, but for teachers – included a performance by Windsor High School’s cheerleaders and this year featured a dance-off contest between the nine schools’ mascots. School Board Chairman John Collick delivered remarks, as did Isle of Wight’s divisionwide 2022-23 Teacher of the Year, Courtney Wooley.
