After months of haggling over the Grange at 10Main development, developers are now looking at the other side of Smithfield for a planned 615-home development.

The town cannot handle this type of growth. Benns Church Boulevard is already stacked every morning and evening with commuters. These dense large-scale mixed-type (contractor grade) developments are the next generation’s large-scale blight. All one needs to do is travel through the City of Virginia Beach.

And survey the past “affordable housing” developments of Aragona, Glenwood, Green Run and Chimney Hill, to name but a few, to see what the future holds for such developments
