A two-vehicle crash with injuries briefly closed both northbound lanes of the James River Bridge.

Isle of Wight County sent a text alert at 7:26 p.m. on Thursday warning of the closure. By 8:55 p.m., both lanes had reopened.

The Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department posted to its Facebook page just after 7:30 p.m. that a ladder truck and two ambulances responded, finding two cars and two individuals in need of transportation to local hospitals.
