Helen S. Delgado passed away on October 23, 2023. Born October 1, 1937, she is the daughter of the late George Finley Saunders and Effie Mae Wrenn Saunders. She is predeceased by her husband, Diego F. Delgado, Sr.; sons, Diego F. Delgado, Jr. and Marco A. Delgado; brothers, Finley “Lee” Saunders and Donald Saunders.
She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church. Helen was from Southampton County and a longtime resident of Smithfield.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Stephen Delgado (Valerie); grandchildren, Rachel Delgado, Nolan Delgado; great grandchildren, Joslyn Delgado, Orrin Delgado; sisters, Catherine Latimer and Ruby Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Antioch Cemetery, 23011 Antioch Road, Windsor, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6 to 7:30 PM in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. Condolences may be posted at RWBakerFH.com.
