Letter – Ed Foundation says thanks

Editor, The Smithfield Times:
The board members of the Education Foundation for Isle of Wight County Public Schools would like to extend our gratitude to the community for their support of our largest fundraiser, the annual Student’s First Black Tie Gala.
The event is historically held the first weekend in November at the Smithfield Center. The evening includes dinner, live entertainment and a live and silent auction.
In just one night, the generosity of our guests raised an impressive $23,000.
Our mission would not be possible without the community’s involvement. Schools, government entities, small-business owners and our citizens came together to donate their time and tangible items to make our event an overwhelming success. The proceeds from our fundraising efforts go directly back into our community — in the form of grants for the public schools.
All public school employees are eligible for grant consideration. The grant application is now live on our website, with grants awarded after the first of the year. For the most up-to-date information during the grant process, visit us on Facebook or our website at www.iowfoundation.org.
