Jessica Futrell, the nurse at Windsor Elementary, was instrumental in the school becoming the first in Virginia to achieve recognition as a Certified Heart Safe School through Project Adam. Recently, she shared this information with other school nurses at the annual school nurse conference held in Midlothian. Futrell supported continuing education of other school nurses by developing a poster presentation, which shared the benefits of the program and information on how schools could also participate in Project Adam. School nurses at the conference voted on the best presentations and Futrell won first place out of the 10 presenters.
