Clark attends White House event on preventing gun violence

Del. Nadarius Clark, D-Portsmouth, announced his new role as co-chair of the Gun Violence Prevention caucus after attending the nation’s largest legislative convening at the White House with state senators and representatives from across the country.

Clark will service along with state Sen. Adam Ebbin,  D-Alexandria, address the surge of gun violence in communities across the United States, particularly among young people.

“In our commonwealth, there are over 1,100 gun deaths this year alone,” Clark said.. “Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens in Virginia.”

He said he will be leading the charge for safer communities in the Gun Violence Prevention Caucus and plans to introduce data-driven legislation that is proven to help the region’s secure communities.

Clark represents a portion of Isle of Wight County, along with the city of Franklin and parts of the cities of Suffolk and Portsmouth.
