Raymond Foster recently photographed this Cooper’s Hawk, which he describes as one of the bird world’s most skillful fliers. “They typically tear through cluttered tree canopies at high speed in pursuit of other birds,” Foster reports. “Cooper’s Hawks can be difficult to identify due to their resemblance to the smaller Sharp-shinned Hawk.” He took this picture in Carrollton.
