At about 4 o’clock the afternoon of March 16th, Priscilla Jones, age 102, quietly slipped away, yet she will always be here in our hearts.
Priscilla was born in 1922 in Massachusetts, spent her childhood in Mason, NH and graduated from Keen State College. She first taught all eight grades in a one-room school house. After she married Bradford B. Jones at the end of his service in WWII in 1945, she moved to Hampton, Virginia. In Hampton and Newport News, she taught first and second grade. Most of her married life she lived in Newport News and moved to Smithfield with her husband in their later years.
Her greatest love was children – all kinds, all colors, good, naughty, or indifferent.
Priscilla’s husband, Bradford B. Jones predeceased her. She is survived by two children, Elizabeth A. Jones and Howard C. Jones (and his wife Patricia); two grandchildren; Brad M. Jones and Eric C. Jones; two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
There will be a small service for her family. If you wish to honor her passing, please contribute to your favorite charity.
