An early-morning tractor-trailer crash on April 25 spilled several thousand pounds of chicken meat onto Old Stage Highway, closing the road for several hours.
Virginia State Police say the crash occurred just after midnight near the Isle of Wight County highway’s intersection with Wrenns Mill Road.
According to VSP spokesman Matthew Demlein, the truck was carrying roughly 39,000 pounds of chicken. At least one person was injured.
Police haven’t said what caused the crash. Old Stage Highway, also known as Route 10, remained closed for approximately 7½ hours, Demlein said.
