I used to have some hope for the Republican Party. But the Republican leadership responses to the conviction of Donald J. Trump on 34 counts has finally blown out any hope for their redemption. 

The former president had this incident investigated, and a grand jury of his peers referred charges. A jury of his peers heard five weeks of testimony. He was given every opportunity to defend himself. He couldn’t even bring himself to sit on the stand and defend himself. The jury unanimously found him GUILTY on all 34 counts. And the Republican leadership of this country calls it a sham and attacks our judicial system! 

The Republican Party needs to be renamed: The Donald J. Trump Cult.
