A forecast of continued rain this evening has forced the cancellation of tonight’s downtown Smithfield s summer concert, which would have featured Pasture #3, a group of musicians from Mill Swamp Indian Horses.

The Smithfield Farmers Market, held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, has also moved indoors to The Smithfield Center at 220 N. Church St. More than 25 vendors are signed up to participate.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s an 80% chance of rain Friday afternoon with thunderstorms likely before 8 p.m. Showers are likely to continue overnight and into Saturday with thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m.
