Robert Steele Holland, 92, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Williams Holland, a grandson, Chad Byrum, and a son in law Cecil Byrum. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Deborah Byrum and Julie Major (Gene); grandchildren, Steele Byrum (Erin), Styles Major (Jan) and Ashley Cowan (Darin); and great grandchildren, Josie, Mason, Silas, Kal, Vance and Weston. 

Bobby was a lifelong farmer, a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and the Baraca Sunday School Class. He loved gardening, fishing, baseball and especially the Washington Redskins. He will always be remembered for his homemade Vanilla ice cream.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, 2 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church with Dr. Donald R. Rhoton. The family will receive friends at a reception to follow in the family life center. Burial will be private in Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
