In loving memory of Andrew Michael Casey born December 9, 1937 in Pawtucket, RI he passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024.
As a young man Andy was a golden glove boxer and that fighting spirit remained through the final hours of his life.
Andy received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, his Master of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Andy was a devoted son and brother, loving husband and father and a wonderful doting grandfather.
Andy served his country for 22 years in the U.S Army achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retiring from Military service Andy and his family settled in Carrollton VA.
Andy was always looking for ways to re-invent himself and found his second calling when he started his own business Loss Prevention Systems Inc and became widely recognized as a distinguished polygraph examiner in the state of Virginia.
Andy served on the Isle of Wight county planning commission and volunteered as an EMT with the Isle of Wight County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Andy is survived by MaryAnn Casey, his loving wife of 57 years, daughter Michelle Pine (Dave), son Joe Casey (Tonya), granddaughters Ashley Casey and Emily Casey, brother Bernard Casey, sisters Theresa Helldorfer, Angela Reilly, Mary Francis Bartholomew, Susan Cute, and numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Little’s Funeral Home, 1515 South Church Street, Smithfield, VA 23430. Visitation precedes the memorial service and will begin at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers Andy would request a donation be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad specifically the Carrollton Station.
