I was introduced to Jim Collins through marriage to my sister and he has been a part of my life for over 40 years. 

During those years, I have watched him develop into a man who has been an exemplary husband, father, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend to his families — and a steward of service, excellent character and integrity to our country.

Jim has always provided wisdom, clear guidance and above-board direction when it comes to dealing with family matters and challenging business decisions. He has always provided honest thoughts and clear opinions when asked.

Jim is a retired Navy veteran who served our country admirably for over 20 years. At the conclusion of his military career, he transitioned into owning three successful businesses serving our government and local communities. Because of his leadership experience, Jim is a strong advocate of dealing with financial matters and can distinguish what is needed for the betterment of our town.

A leading attribute that Jim has is that he listens to different opinions and treats everyone with the same dignity and respect. He also believes in personal responsibility and accountability.

I encourage folks of the Town of Smithfield to elect Jim Collins to Town Council because of his qualified experience, leadership, background, work ethic and his ability to make decisions based on facts and who can be trusted with our town’s best interest in the forefront.
